Training Programmes in 2009-2010
Great emphasis is given to training and placement. A special 3 day orientation programme was conducted for the newly admitted first year students. Dr. Borgeo of St. Xavier's College of Education, Prof. T. Karunakaran of St. John'sCollege, Mr. Jones, Teacher from Sudan, Mr. Susai Marian, director, FX Polytechnic and Mr. Paul Livingston, HOD, I Year were the resource persons. Dr. T.S. Albert Ruban, a Physiotherapist and Psychologist, working among Children with special needs in New Zealand, delivered an inspiring lecture on Motivation to 350 students of our college on 8th January 2010.

A one-day training programme on Interview Skills was conducted on 6th February 2010 to guide our final year students in interviews. Mr. Madhavan, Sr. Lecturer, Sankar Polytechnic inspired the students with the interesting power point presentation. A two day training programme was conducted for the final year students on aptitude, reasoning and communication skills on the 14th and 15th of February. Mr. Jegadeesan, HOD, Mechanical, Mr. Paul Livingston, HOD, I YEAR, Mr. David Nelson, HOD, CSE were the resource persons. Ms. Diana and Ms. Malin of the English Department conducted a session on HR interview on 13th February 2010.

Placement - 2010
Though only into the fourth year, the college efficiently conducted the first centralized campus interview. The employer, Cruise line Shipping Management Corporation, selected 46 students on the basis of their performance in Aptitude and HR interview. A Trichy based Mineral Garnet Company, in the centralized Campus Interview held at our campus, recruited 24 students out of which 12 were from our polytechnic. Our students attended campus interviews conducted in various other colleges as well. The placement details are as follows. 10 companies have recruited 61 students and 37 more students have been short listed in 4 more companies. We are confident of placing many more students in the days ahead.

Counseling
The Counseling cell was established in the current academic year. It is headed by the Principal and guided by the Director. The heads of departments are the members of the cell. The cell identifies the students with various problems and offers them constructive counseling. The students counseled are monitored and followed up periodically.
