SCAD institutions were founded with a vision to develop the professionals, who have zeal for growth of the nation and burden for the under privileged. John Dewey, the famous progressive educationist said the aim of education is more education and the end of growth is more growth. FX Polytechnic College, an off-spring of SCAD Group, has been standing evidence to the words of John Dewey since its inception in 2006.Started with the strength of 240 students in 4 branches, the college now has a maximum intake of 420 with 6 branches. In 2009-10, the college got approval for an additional intake of 60 students in the Civil Department. 1075 students receive education not only to sharpen their technical skills but also to cultivate the qualities of social service, sportsmanship, physical strength and character.

FX Polytechnic College was established in 2006 by St. Xavier's Educational Trust, a registered society under the leadership of Dr. S.Cletus Babu, with the principal objective of bringing quality technical education within the reach of students of South Tamilnadu, particularly in the rural areas FX Polytecnic College aims at imparting professional technical education with an emphasis on analytical and reasonable abilities as well as practical skills. It is the objective of the college to inculcate in every student a sense of responsibility towards the society and respect for human life, besides developing in them the highest standards of professional behaviour and personal integrity.

The rich experience of establishing, developing and managing SCAD Engineering College, SCAD Polytechnic College , FX Engineering College and other professional institutions has enabled the management to take FX Polytechnic to great heights in a span of just three years. The number of students who have been placed in HCL, L& T, Brakes India etc… bear testimony to this amazing growth and achievement
